Bienvenue! Welcome!

Join us next spring for a unique cooking retreat in the south of Provence with the amazing chef from Lincolnville, Maine Annemarie Ahearn! A week of exploring, discovering, cooking and tasting Provence. You will visit the historic towns and typical markets, take a tour of our gorgeous islands, participate in cooking classes with Annemarie and much more. We will make sure that your experience in Provence will be one you remember forever!

Annemarie Ahearn is the founder of Salt Water Farm Cooking School, located on her family’s farm on the coast of Maine (USA) and author of two cookbooks: Modern Country Cooking and Full Moon Suppers. Annemarie believes that good cooking has nothing to do with fancy equipment, complicated recipes, or hard-to-find ingredients. The fundamentals are really quite simple: it’s all about instinct, technique, and freshness. Annemarie has been teaching at her cooking school for over a decade and believes that developing these essential skills can lead to a greater sense of confidence and fulfillment in the kitchen. Join her in Provence for a week of modern country cooking and a series of delicious meals inspired by this unique and stunning location.

Cook with local, seasonal foods to better connect with the earth and the nutrition it provides. Be familiar with a range of cooking techniques so you can develop flexibility and intuition in the kitchen. Master age-old cooking skills that will serve you your whole lifetime—like cooking in cast iron, sharpening knives, cooking over fire and using a mortar and pestle.

You will explore Provence with Annemarie, as well as your local hosts and guides Maria and Mathieu.

Activities will include:

• Participate in cooking classes with Annemarie and develop a wide range of cooking techniques

• Enjoy daily delicious meals prepared with fresh products and care by hosts Mathieu and Maria

• Take strolls around unbeaten paths in the beautiful nature of Provence through the hills overlooking the old town

• Visit the littoral, the islands, and its breath-taking creeks

• We will take you through the alleys of the historic center of Hyères, this magic city where numerous writers and painters have come to find inspiration since the dawn of time. Artists such as Edith Warton, RL Stevenson, Noailles, Picasso, and Jean Cocteau amongst others, contributed in their time to shaping the rich art heritage of Hyères

• Visit our coloured markets, discover and taste Provençal specialties
